Wheeler Building

Our next project takes us back to St. Louis Street in downtown Mobile. The historic corridor known as “Automobile Alley” was recently placed on the National Register of Historic Places and is experiencing substantial revitalization. The Wheeler Building, completed in 1927, has served as the offices for the Mobile Press-Register, Adams Motor Company, and as a Chevrolet dealership. The building is currently being used for secure file storage. Plans at this time for the property include a ground floor restaurant and a series of apartments throughout the building. This project will compete for State and Federal Historic Tax Credits.
